About Yaker Rakita
Yaker emigrated to US from Antwerp, Belgium February 25, 1911and arrived March 13,1911 at the port of Detroit, Michigan.
He owned the Hanover Bottling works with Leo Rakita and Boris Podzarsky(Logo was "three bears" on the label. Hanover was founded during prohibition and manufactured soda water. The plant was located at 1640 N. 31st St.
While the family still lived in Arpin (circa 1913) yaker would send apples and other fruit on the freight train from Milwaukee to peddle to the farmers. He stored the fruitin Nate and Rebeccas cellar.
The Cohns lived next door to Nate and Rebecca. One day Yaker went over to stop their animals to Nate and Rebecca's land . Cohn hit Yaker with a board leaving a permanent scar on his lip
