Authorities: Eastham-Orleans Town and Church Records; Barnstable Probate Records, vol. xx, pp. 154-5, will of Paul Knowles. The name of the first wife of Zaccheus Higgins has been read "Mary Carsbury," by a careful student of Eastham records, Mr. Stanley W. Smith, but in another place the record is clearly "Mercy Crosby," so it seems probable that the former is a careless or fantastic spelling of the latter.
