Zacharias Jacobus Prinsloo

I do not have absolute proof that Zacharias was the son of Hendrik Petrus Prinsloo b3c3d3e5f3. The names of the 1st Son are Hendrik Petrus (the name of Zacharias's father) and as the names of the 2nd son were Theunis Christiaan - Margarita de Klerk's father was Theunis according to her ZIM DN, it would seem that they used traditional naming conventions. The only niggle is that the SAG b3c3d3e5f3g3 Zacharias has a birth date of 14 Nov 1847. His age on his DN was 71 years and 9 months. The SAG birth date would make him a year too old.

The "FORM OF INFORMATION OF A DEATH: ORD. No 8 OF 1902" provides a precise age at death on 2 June 1918 of seventy years six months + nineteen days. This implies the DOB was 14 Nov 1847 (if you include the day of death in his age). This corresponds to the birthdate in the baptismal record for Zacharias Johannes Prinsloo son of Hendrik Petrus Prinsloo and Christina Petronella de Beer. I concluded that the name in the birth record is in error as the name of his father and the birthday corroborates it, and I learned over the years that such errors are not uncommon. Jan Grobbelaar
