Zilpha Bailey

Zilpha Lee was born c.1780 in Johnston Co., North Carolina. She married Thomas Bailey, son of Thomas Bailey and wife Sarah. Thomas was born c.1780. He was the brother of William Bailey who married Zilpha's sister Winifred. They had thirteen children. Of these children, it is known that Mary ("Pollie") died in 1825 in Shelby Co., Alabama. The family appears in the 1820 census for Shelby Co., Alabama.

In 1823, Thomas Bailey brought suit, as husband of Zilpha Lee, in the Hawkins Co., Tennesee, Chancery Court, to settle the estate of Mary Lee, widow of Capt. Thomas Lee.
