According to Lea Morgan (martian3@owt.com) Zilpha Hicks received 50 acres as compensation for the death of Richard in the War of 1812. Living on a branch of the Ill Will Creek in Cumberland County, Kentucky. 6-20-1817

Zilphia was married to Richard Hicks who was killed in the War of 1812, They had six children.
Zilphia then married Cornelius Swain in Cumberland, KY. Their children are Zilpha, Julia and Martin
She was buried with Cornelius in a Rev. War ceremony.
