Also in his 1921 application, he listed his date of birth as 1864-08-18, which is consistent with his age provided in the particulars of his description.

According to his 1906 naturalization file, Josif/Josef Hersh/Hersch Victor was born in Roman, Province of Modolva, Roumania.

According to his 1922 petition for a naturalization certificate, based on his 1906 naturalization, he claims to have been born 1869-09-17, which conflicts with 1860-10-03 on his gravestone.

Although his brother Rubin was born in Braila, Abram's naturalization file indicates Berlad, Province of Moldowa, Roumania as his place of birth. According to JewishGen.org, Berlad is the Yiddish name, in the region of Moldavia, and the contemporary name is Birlad/Barlad:
