No record of him ever boarding a ship and sailing to America has ever been found, but there are records mentioning him as the owner of a farm in Bethlehem (just south of Albany) as early as 1648. The farm at Bethlehem was destroyed by a fire prior to May of 1654. He then leased a farm at Green Bush for twelve years following the fire. On Sept. 17, 1660, Aert purchased a piece of land in Esopus (Kingston, NY) from Johanna Delaet, the wife of Jeronimus Ebbinck. This land was bounded by the lands of Jans Schoon, Aert Pieterse Tack, and Tjerck Classen (De Witt). Aert died before June 6, 1667 at Knigston, NY. His will was never recorded, but there are five Quit-claim deeds of his children all recorded on Nov. 6, 1710. Aert's wife's name was Annetje Gerrits. Aert and Annetje were both received as members of the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston, Ulster County, NY on June 24, 1661.
