About Werner Erich Klaber
Werner was a bright kid who was a joy for his parents. Sadly, his father Fritz was imprisoned immediately after the Kristallnacht (Nov. 1938) when he was not yet 2 years old. Fritz would never see his son again after he was forced to leave Germany as condition for being freed from Dachau after 3 months imprisonment under very harsh conditions. In the letters his mother Ilse wrote to his father in Holland, preparing the emigration of his family, she told him about Werner's longing to be reunited with his father. Werner, his mother and maternal grandmother were deported to Riga Ghetto in December 1941 when Werner was only 5 years old. They all vanished and no trace has been found ever since.
