Mr James W. Kiernan, was born in Liverpool (1)
(Daily Sketch 18 April 1912)
When he signed-on to the Titanic, on 4 April 1912, he gave his address as "Inglewood", Billemoor Rd, (Southampton). He was transferred from the Olympic. As Chief Steward he received monthly wages of £8.
Kiernan died in the sinking.
Notes 1. He gave his age as 32, but the only James Kiernan listed in the 1881 census and born in Livepool was aged 3, the son of dock labourer Peter Kiernan and his wife Jemima. If this is the correct James Kiernan then he would have been born in 1878 and would have been 33 or 34 on the Titanic.
