PERLMAN, Shirley (nee Smolarchyk). Peacefully, with dignity, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, after a courageous battle. Beloved wife of the late Martin. Cherished mother of Sheree (Sheindy), and Harry. Adoring Bubbie of Alex. Treasured sister and sister-in-law of Esther and Joseph Tenenhouse, and sister-in-law of Allan Perlman and Patsy Rudner. Special aunt of Dena and Michael, Alan and Rachel, Howard, and Ilana, and great-aunt of Issabella. Shirley will be deeply missed by her family and many dear friends, and remembered by her former students and colleagues whose lives she touched. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Montreal General Hospital and Palliative Care Unit at the Mount Sinai Hospital, for their exceptional and compassionate care. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Beit Abraham Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at her home, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily.
