Fred Perlman

OBITUARY FRED PERLMAN Passed away peacefully, on Sunday, April 16th, 2006, following a courageous battle. Fred was a fighter until the end. Fred is deeply mourned by Marilyn (Rosenstein) Perlman, his cherished wife and best friend of fifty-six years, his loving children Ellen Rishikof (Norman), Charles (Carolee), and Robert (Annette). Brother and brother-in-law to his loving sister, Florence Berns, the late Gerry Berns, the late Ernie Perlman, Norma Perlman, the late Philip Perlman, and Lynn Perlman; son of the late Max and the late Zelda Perlman. Papa truly loved all his grandchildren David (Shana), Jodi, Michael, Benjamin, Stephanie, and Maxine and they fondly remember Papa and his funny nicknames, telephone calls, and facial expressions. Fred will be sadly missed by his many nephews, nieces, cousins, and life-long friends, as he was a special person with great strength of character and warm humour throughout a successful and productive life. Fred helped many along the way. Many family and friends will remember Freddie the Fireman with a smile. Fred grew up and lived in Montreal, and he was proud of his roots. From humble beginnings he helped his father and brothers grow Dalmys into a highly successful retail enterprise, with over 50 years of success. Fred was admired and respected by his peers and employees over a long career, and he quietly gave back to the community without fanfare. The family thanks the dialysis and ICU staff at the Montreal General Hospital for compassionate care. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon on Tuesday, April 18th at 2:30 p.m. Burial at Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, Mount Royal Blvd. Shiva private.
