MANASTER, Charlotte (née Frage)
A Holocaust Survivor

It is with broken hearts, that we must announce the peaceful passing of our precious mother on Sunday, May 3, 2020. She died with dignity, of Covid-19. Devoted wife of the late Freddy Manaster. Loving mother of Mara Dankoff (Murray), Susie Manaster (David Firestone), Rita Schick (the late Mark), and Richie Manaster. Extraordinary 'Nana' to Adam Segal, Erin Segal-Gabbay (Jonathan), Ali and Romy Schick. 'Great-Nana' to Ryan Gabbay. Sister of Trudy Wortzman. Loving aunt of Jack Einheber and the late Stephen. Born in Vienna, Charlotte learned her love of the arts from early childhood. She was passionate about classical music, sculptures, paintings, languages, and culture. She spoke many languages fluently and even went back to school, when her children were grown, to study Russian literature at McGill University. She mastered the language to perfection and was hired by the Canadian Government to be an official interpreter for Russian diplomats. She was a very gifted and talented fine jewelry designer. Our mother was a beautiful woman of style and substance, generous and kind, warm and welcoming, unconditionally supportive with wisdom and love for her cherished family and friends. She always made us feel very loved and special. Although dementia robbed her of speech and independence, she always embodied elegance and integrity, remaining the gentle strength and glue of our family. Our heartfelt gratitude to Judy Epstein, Vicky, and all the devoted caregivers of Snowdon Residence, who prioritized dignity in their exceptional care. Many thanks to the compassionate medical team of Covid Unit at the Jewish General Hospital. "Mummy, we miss you more than words can say and,
while our sorrow is immeasurable, we will always be grateful for
having you in our lives, as long as we did. Rest in Peace, our Angel."
