His birth date range is estimated arbitrarily on the assumption that his son Íñigo was 30 years old when first mentioned. It is probable that this Fortún was the same person as one of the individuals of the same name who is listed above as the father of one or more “Fortúnez”. It is unlikely that there were so many different persons named Fortún among the Navarrese nobility in the late 10th and early 11th century, although three Fortún´s are named in the late 10th century sources so far consulted, as shown in Part E above.] m ---. The name of Fortún´s wife is not known.
