David married Nancy Jane Peebles on 29-JAN-1875 at Red Hills, Cass County, Texas. Their children were: 1.Puluski Tramel "Lusky Weathers, b. 1876 2. Mittie Arvella "Mitt" Weathers Bowers, b. 1877 3. Mary Emma Weathers Jones, b. 1880 4. Linnie Beatrice Weathers Clark, b. 1882 5. Lillie Pearl Weathers Acrea, b. 1885 6. Infant Weathers, b. & d. 1886

David was on the Brown County, TX Tax Roll from 1880-1885. In the 1890's David and Nancy's children inherited land in Cass County, TX, from Henry Peebles.

Nancy Jane Peebles Weathers and the infant were buried in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Brown County, TX. After Nancy's death David took his motherless children to the home of his parents in Fannin County, TX.

David Russie Weathers married Irzella Thamer Thornton on April 1, 1888, in Stephenville, Erath Co., TX.
