- Date/place of birth in The National Archives; Kew, London, England; HO 396 WW2 Internees (Aliens) Index Cards 1939-1947; Reference Number: Ho 396/13. Hanno Müller, Juden in Lich : Birklar, Langsdorf, Muschenheim und Ettingshausen (2010), vol. 1, identifies Elisabeth Chambre as Lieselotte Betty, and states that she was born in Giessen. The records in English sources identify her as Elisabeth and state that her birth place was Lich.
- Identified as daughter of Albert and Gertrude (née Goldschmidt) Chambré in Müller cited above.
- In November 1938, Elisabeth Chambre left Germany with her mother, Gertrud, and sister Hildegard and went to Maastricht in Belgium. In June 1939, the three entered England. Like her mother, Elisabeth worked in domestic service but not in the same place. (Hanno Müller)
