I guess I had not inspected my Bloch family from Ckyne in a while, and was able to make some corrections and maybe a big advance while working on it last night.

Using chewra.com, I went through the tombstones from Ckyne and came up with something that I think works.

Let's start with my 4g-grandfather Rabbi Mendel/Mathes Bloch b. 1778 who dies in 1850 in Ckyne. Rabbi Mathes / Mathias Mendel Bloch

In 1793 Mathes is listed in Ckyne (Prachensko) as the second-born son of the widow Mariana Plochin. https://www.geni.com/photo/view?album_type=photos_of_me&id=6000000002765690373&photo_id=6000000047154443821&position=3 But I think he is also listed, age 14, as Marcus Bloch, the Jewish teacher from Ckyne in Kolodeje (Budejovicko). Note that Rabbi Mendel/Mathes has a grandson Simeon, son of Isak, who dies, age 7, in 1847. Simeon Bloch http://www.chewra.com/keshetnew/kweb/tomb_detail.aspx?tomb=7098&kid=0

So it would make sense if Rabbi Mendel's father is Simeon.

On chewra.com we find Šimjon b. Mendl who dies February 19, 1790. Simeon Bloch http://www.chewra.com/keshetnew/kweb/tomb_detail.aspx?tomb=870&kid=0

That would fit with his wife being a widow in 1793, and of course the name Mendl for Simeon's father fits perfectly too.

His death could be the Simon Bloch, age 54, recorded in faint ink at the bottom of the first page of Ckyne death book (although the date would be out of order, because it looks like it should be July 1795). https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000141953948639

My question is, where is this Simeon b. Mendl in 1783?
