About Ramon II, comte de Pallars
Count of El Pallars (circa 947- circa 995), son of Llop (Wolf) I of El Pallars and of Goldregot de Cerdanya. At the time of the death of his father (circa 947), and that of his cousin, Guillem (William) I de Pallars (circa 950), Ramon III and his brothers, Borrell and Sunyer, must still have been minors. Therefore, their mother, Goldregot, was obliged to govern the county until around 963. After that, Ramon, Borrell and Sunyer governed together from then on, although Ramon III, who must have been the first-born male, exercised a sort of primacy. All three were executors of their cousin's will, Count Borrell II of Barcelona. Ramon III made donations to the monasteries of Sant Serni de Tavèrnoles (963 and 976), Gerri (966) and Sant Pere de les Maleses (973 and 988), as well as to the church of Sant Vicenç de Saurí (circa 970). He is documented as administering justice in 969 and in 995.
