Soeiro Mendes da Maia o Bom (died between 1103 and 1108), son of Mendo Gonçalves da Maia, 3rd lord of Maia, and Leodegúndia Soares Tainha,[1][2][3] daughter of Soeiro Guedes and Leodegúndia Tainha, was a rich man[4] and a member of the Maia lineage, one of the most important in the Por "The most powerful and noblest of all Portuguese"

He married Gontrode Moniz,[9][10] from whom he had four children:[11]

1. Paio Soares da Maia ([d. 1129), butler of Count Henrique,[12] married Chamoa Gomes, daughter of Gomes Nunes de Pombeiro and Elvira Perez de Trava;[13]
2. Godo Soares da Maia (d. 1133) the wife of Paio Peres "Romeu", son of Pedro Trutesendes;[14][15]
3. Mendo Soares da Maia (fl. 1045-1065), who is not mentioned by the lineage books,[14] father of another Soeiro Mendes, by Gonçalo Mendes da Maia, the "Lidador", Paio Mendes da Maia, archbishop of Braga, Goina and Elvira.[ 16]
4. Aurovelido, died before 1098.[ 17][18]
