Shady Grove Cemetery existed in the community of Shady Grove, which is now Advance, Davie County, North Carolina. It was identified by an iron metal gated arch with 4 ft woven wire fence which later was contributed toward the World War effort. The cemetery was used by the Orrells, Tuckers, Rumbly, Fosters and other surrounding Davie County Families. Daniel Orrell contributed Land for the Cemetery. It is now known as Advance United Methodist Church Cemetery.
From I40, take exit 180 onto NC Hwy 801 South to Advance NC. Cross the railroad tracks and the church and cemetery is on the left.
