Bethania Cemetery, Justice, Illinois

Bethania Cemetery, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1894 and is one of the oldest cemeteries in the area.

Bethania is a Christian Cemetery that serves families who represent all religions, cultures, and walks of life in a tradition of compassion, integrity, and excellence. With numerous undeveloped acres, Bethania will continue to provide future generations a place of beauty and respect to treasure the memories of those who have gone before.

As you drive or walk through our well maintained cemetery grounds you will see testimonies of pride, love, devotion, and life carved in granite - paying a tribute to the life, not death, of a loved one.

Bethania is a place of peace and serenity where lives are remembered, deaths are recorded, and memories are cherished.

The first interment in Bethania was that of a 10 day-old child named Ehrhart Ketschner. The burial took place on July 22, 1894.

Our staff is committed to helping families embrace the significance of individual lives and provide a beautiful resting place for your departed loved ones. Bethania serves families with dignity, integrity, respect, and compassion.

Area residents know when a funeral is entering Bethania’s ground, because its original Historic Bell - from 1894 - is tolled as the procession passes through the gates and past our nearly 100 year old administration building.

When the funeral service is over and the love of friends and relatives has been fully expressed, our cemetery becomes the anchor of remembrance.
