LOOKING FOR ANYONE WITH THE LAST NAME OF 'MAYS': CAN BE SPELLED MAYES OR MAYSE AS WELL.
I'm on a search for my grandfather's family. His name was Tip Mays. He has/or had a sister living in Dayton, Ohio. He was born in the early 1900s I believe. Here is what I know:
He came from somewhere in Kentucky (possibly Crab Orchard, Pine Way) or Tennesse. Not really sure where.
He worked in a coal mind.
He was African American, brown skin, slim, and loved coffee and Vanilla Wafers.
His second wife was named, Alberta Nelson Mays, who was born in Kentucky well.
They lived on Fair Street, Springfield, Ohio for years.
Children: Clifford Mays, James McKee (retired Chief of Police, Yellow Springs,
Ohio), Fred Leroy Mays Sr., Edward (Herman) Mays, Clarence Douglas Mays
(lives in Dayton, Ohio), Allen (Buck) Mays, Janet Mays, Shirley Mays (Hagans)
Gladney, Shelia Darlene Mays and Beverly Mays (Wright) Norfleet.
