This project is dedicated to the men who served in Company E. 2ndBN 381st Reg. of the 96th US Infantry Division. The Deadeye's. These men fought in Leyte and Okinawa against some of the most fierce fighting in WWII. The 96th Division had the highest kills of any Division in WWII. They also had the 10th highest casualty rate of any Division. A Presidential Unit Citation to the 96th Infantry Division for extraordinary heroism and gallantry in action against the Japanese on Okinawa was awarded after the war to the 96th.
