NOTES

1. Joost De Groot and his wife Marritie Banta baptized eight children here at Hackensack. At least one is not among them. This is their sonJoost who married Arientje Sloove. Why is this? My guess it's because Marrite was not the mother. I now believe that this hints that the son Joost's mother was a person of color... (The GENi tree now reflects this. The relationship is locked until proven otherwise)
