Descendants of Jean François Couchot and Marie "Anne" (Benoit) Couchot

Jean François and Marie "Anne" (Benoit) Couchot with thier children Immigrated to the United States in 1840 from the Meuse Region of France on the Ship "Apollo" With families Ayet, Humbert, and Mougeville.

Arrived in New Orleans Apr 28, 1840

Changed to a River Boat and went up the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers to Cincinnati(cost $2 per person)=10 Francs, then took canal boat up the Great Miami River through Dayton and Landed in Piqua, Miami Co., Ohio. They then traveled by land to Frenchtown, Darke Co., Ohio and settled with other families that came from the Meuse Region of France.
