
Quincy's oldest pioneer families are buried in this cemetery. Hezekiah Wilder - First settler in Quincy. Ann Wilder, his wife, was the oldest inhabitant of Quincy when she died. Archibald Sumpter, one of the early settlers, was an Indian Trader and opened an Indian Trading Post. This cemetery is now full and no new burials take place. It is well maintained by the citizens of Gadsden County, Florida.
There is a large section with an old wrought iron fence surrounding it. It is located in the northeast corner of the cemetery. Some of the fence is covered by tree trunks that are growing around it. In this section is where the soldiers are supposed to be buried. There are three old marble headstone this this area.
DIRECTIONS:
From the courthouse in Quincy go east on US Hwy 90 for about 2 & 1/2 blocks to North Love Street. Turn left onto North Love Street and go one block to East Washington St. & take a right into the cemetery.
