Medal of Honor Recipients

The Medal of Honor (MOH) is the United States Armed Forces highest and most prestigious military decoration that may be awarded to recognize American soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, guardians, and coast guardsmen who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor. Purple Heart Recipients

Servicemen were awarded Purple Hearts for "being wounded or killed in any action against an enemy of the United States or as a result of an act of any such enemy or opposing armed forces". Visit the Purple Heart project on Geni.

  • PFC Adriano Alagon (posthumous). He fought in Bataan and survived the Death March. He died as a POW in 1944

  • Vicente Lim. He was the first Filipino to graduate from the US Military Academy in West Point in 1914. He was captured by Japanese forces (en route to Australia to join General McArthur), and tortured in Fort Santiago and imprisoned in Bilibid Jail. He was pronounced "missing" in 1944.

  • Capt. Menandro Parazo. He survived the infamous Bataan Death March and was twice captured and tortured by the Japanese forces. He to join the US Liberation forces at the Battle of Manila.
  • Leonardo Balagot Perez. He was wounded during the Battle of Hapid in Kiangan and was later awarded the Purple Heart.
  • M/Sgt. Alfredo Quijano. He enlisted in the US Army in 1933. He distinguished himself in the Battle of Abucay, suffering battle wounds and earning a Silver Star and a Purple Heart medals for his heroic actions in the line of duty. He fought in Bataan and survived the Death March.
  • Col. Carlos P. Romulo. He served as Aide-de-Camp to General Douglas MacArthur and the Public Relations Officer of the Commanding General of the USAFFE. He was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action by General MacArthur, and the Purple Heart by Lieutenant General Bainwright for bravery under fire.

Legion of Merit Recipients

The Legion of Merit is a military award of the United States Armed Forces that is given for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements.   • Lt. Col. Exequiel Sevilla Jr.. He received a Legion of Merit award for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as an Army officer.

Silver Star Recipients

The Silver Star Medal is the United States Armed Forces' third-highest personal decoration for valor in combat. The Silver Star Medal is awarded primarily to members of the United States Armed Forces for gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States. Visit the Silver Star project on Geni.

  • Cmdre. Ramon A. Alcaraz, PN. He belonged to the pioneer class of the Philippine Military Academy. He proved effective in battle and was decorated by General Douglas MacArthur with a Silver Star for his heroism. In 1950s, he headed the newly created Philippine Marine Corps.

  • Eustacio Orobia for gallantry in action on 25 January 1942, at Bataan, Philippine Islands.
  • Víctor Osías for distinguished services rendered during the Korean War.
