
The cemetery was founded in 1848 by Fillmore Methodist Church, once located on site. Buried here are Thomas D. Connell, founder of Connell's Cross Roads (now Fillmore), and W.P. Haughton. Also here is O.R. Gelette (1845-1944), one of six last surviving Confederate commissioned officers, and the last surviving officer of General Lee's staff.
