The Fredericksburg and Wilderness Telephone Company served the City of Fredericksburg and part of Spotsylvania County. It was an excellent example of rural telephone service and it used "wireless" technology decades before that became an everyday buzzword.
The Company no longer exists, this site is not an advertisement, but rather a historical memorial of what the Company accomplished and how they served their customers in a time when such service was largely non-existent in rural areas.
This project captures the people who did it, and the people who relied on it.
