The Gallagher Chapel Cemetery is located in Section 30, Holland Township, one half mile west and one mile north of Fancher, in Shelby County, Illinois. It is fenced and cared for. There are quite a few unmarked graves, especially in the west half of the cemetery. The Gallagher Chapel Cemetery is approximately 1-1/2 acres.

In the year of 1839, Daniel and his wife Mary D (Middlesworth) Golloher moved from Fairfield Co., Ohio to Shelby Co., Ill. On the 14 day of February in the year of 1844, there was an indenture made between Daniel Golloher of Shelby County in the state of Illinois, and the Trustee's of Schools in and for Township No. 10 of range four east of Shelby Co., Illinois. The purpose of this indenture on the land is to be used for a school house, meeting house and a burying ground.
