The Little Fork Colony
Beginning in 1728 two members of the First Colony, Jacob Holtzclaw and John Fishback, purchased land along the north fork of the Rappahanock River which is formed by the Hedgeman and Hazel Rivers and is called the Little Fork.
This land was located in present day Culpeper County and was one of several land ventures between Jacob Holtzclaw and John Fishback to encourage other Siegerländers, mainly their relatives, to settle in Virginia.
These later settlers became known as the Little Fork Colony..
