African Americans

Throughout American history, certain individuals have stood out for various reasons. Some were the first and some were the best and some have been lost to time but there is no set number of amazing heroes and icons. These are some who happened to be of African descent.

February is Black History Month, a time for remembering the achievements and accomplishments of African-Americans throughout history. We take a look at some of the most iconic personalities and their accomplishments.

Black history should not be celebrated just one month out of the year. We feel it should be celebrated year round. There are so many African Americans that have made great contributions to our world, yet a lot of people have never heard of some of them.

Geni has done a wonderful job bringing to light some of these unsung heroes. Yet we have noticed that many of the African American profiles are incomplete.

This is partly due to the fact that during slavery times, African Americans were not allowed to keep records, and a lot of records that were kept were either lost or destroyed.

We are on a mission to try to complete as many profiles as possible.

If you would like to help us with this major project, we welcome you.

We welcome all races. Together we are finding our roots.

God bless you
