I am looking for Hawk family connections, right now I am stuck At George Christopher Hawk c.1766-1820 and wife Ruth (Reese) Hawk I have been to the Lower Richwoods Cemetery Jefferson County, Iowa many times, all my family are burred there, Darrell my dad, Maynard his dad and Esther my grandma (who did most of this legwork till she passed), then continuing up the line, I have till George Christopher Hawk and wife Ruth (Resse) c. 1766-1820 Coffee co. Tenn. Head stones. I am starting to think

that William updated his fathers name from German maybe? H200. The information that I am getting of George and his wife from is The Charles Blackley family of Knox County, Tennessee by Gregory M. Perry but only snipits of it off line , I can not find the book in print. there are some interesting leads on the Iowagravestones.org site , like a Haw and a Hooke and some others that say just father, the way my family is described in the book it sounds like the Blackey's knew them from Iowa or Tenn. I will attach what I am referencing. The target data is where did George Christopher Hawk come from? I am trying to get us across the Atlantic so to speak.really only tracing male Hawk's,
I have the rest of the family tracing the other sides, We are on Geni I will inc. a link for that also Dan Hawk

William Carl Hawk Jr (October 3, 1841 to April 7, 1926) was from William ClarkSr.'s (December 27, 1817 to July 20, 1903)first marriage, He went to Iowa and met his first wife there at apx. 22-23 years of age. after his first wife ( married on 8/6/1840) Rhoda Hawk (Blakely) passed, he gave up Iowa and returned to Tenn. where he met his 2nd wife and then returned to Ia.
My line comes from his second Frances (Franny) Hawk (McClure)( married on 8/20/1845) , but may have links to origins.
