The Swedish queen gave the Latvian manor Hirschenhof as gift to the captain Abraham Larsson Hirsch in 1637. The Hirschenhof lies about 100 east from Riga in Koknese Latvia From 1766 settled the Russian Tsar Catherine the Great German colonists in Hirschenhof. The German population lived there till 1939. The population was about 2000 persons and grow in the next 235 years til about 30 000. Major part of the population was moved to the Volga area of Saratow
