My father, Benjamin Brzezicki [1911-1973], was 19 months old when he came to America on October 26, 1913, [S.S. Carmania, N.Y.]. He was born in the Ukraine, between the towns of Kamien Koszyrski and Kowel in the Prypet River marshland area. My grandfather was Michael Brzezicki,[1889-1940],and was married to Stefania Jakubczyk ,[1893-1971]. My great-grandfather was Boleslaw Brzezicki and his wife was Marjanna Marcinkowski. They had six children. They were: Michal,[MA,CT],Alexander married to a Rubinowki,[MA], Kaszemir, [MA], Leon, Antonia married to Julian Sladewski,[MA,UKR,GER,POL], Domicial, married Joseph Charbak. My grandmother Stefania's father was Antos Jakubczyk and he was married to Marcianna Onisk. The had six children. Antos, Thomas, Felix {no history on them}, Agnes married Adam Lachnicki,[MA], Marcianna married Wladyslaw Pawlin and they moved to Argentina. I am looking for the church records for the years 1860-1895 from the Catholic Church in Kamin Koshirsky or Kowel. Other family relatives from the area were: Sladewski, Niedzwiecki, Lachicki, Charbak, Knysz, Paszkowski, Baczewski, Rymkowski. I have oral interviews with Julia Sladewski Bielinski [78], Maria Sladewski Lachicki[83],and Ludwick Baczewski [86]. The theme centers around their lives in Kamien Koszyrski and then the WAR.[Life before the War, living in an ethnically diverse region, the massacre of the population, Soviet brutality , ethnic cleansing, and Nazi enslavement into forced labor camps]. The three managed to survive. Emigrated to the U.S. after spending years in a displaced persons camps. Mr. Baczewski tells about his under ground activities , his deportation to Siberia, and his fighting with the Polish Army in Italy. I'm researching my family and the events of their lives. Any information on all levels will be appreciated. I am willing to share all.
