Kiriyathil Nair. Some time in 17th century in Valluvanad, a land called Methil was under a Thampuran. His accountant was a brilliant Nair youth from Puthiyankam in Alathur who was admired by everyone in the palace. The ruler's young daughter was also not an exception to this. She and the accountant loved each other and eloped one day as her parents were against their marriage. They came to his house and married. Thus Puthiyankam Methil family established. Later when there was no female child in Koolanghat family to succeed, they adopted a female child from Puthiyankam Methil family. The adopted female was the predecessor of all living members of Koolanghat family rooted in Ayaloor near Nemmara in Palakkad District.
