This project is attempting to link the various branches of the Kubie / Kobias family, which originated possibly in Prague, moved to the area of Susice, Bohemia and from there spread all over the world. All with an interest in this family are welcome to join us. Old family photographs and documents are especially welcome.

Among our current projects is an effort to determine how a large Kubie family born in Bergreichenstein (now Kasperske Hory), that went to NY, starting in 1886, fits on the Kubie family tree. They are the children of Leopold Kubie (Leopold Kubie) and Karoline Fantl. We have posted documents for the children on Geni.

Bergreichenstein is 6 km. from Langendorf, so temporarily, we have assumed that this branch came from Langendorf, but it could be Schüttenhofen also, which is a little further away. The names of Leopold's father, grandfather, etc. are unknown.

Update 9/30/12: With the Susice vital records available on Badatelna.cz, we learned that Leopold's father was Adalbert. This connected the children of Leopold Kubie 3 generations back to Salomon Kubie, who is listed in the 1793 Bohemian census for Langendorf.
