I have never started project before so I hope I am doing it correctly. The purpose of this project is to establish correct dates, family members, and sources for the family of Liebe Rochel Nochimowski (Niankowski).
I am going to include the individual emails I received from each of you.
Hello,
Thanks for doing all this work!
This is my understanding:
1. My grandmother was Nechamka Nochimowski Hymowitz. She died in about 1984. I can probably get the exact date. 1969 is definitely not correct so please do not change. I don't think Anna was ever part of her official name, but we called her grandma Annie.
2. Also, the maiden name is Nochimowski not Nochimkowski. My grandmother's, Nechamka's, father was Zvi Hirsch Nochimowski married to Liebe-Rochel Niankowski. So, Liebe-Rochel must have been born about 1855. She died about 1945 - I don't have the exact date but I can search. 1935 would not make sense.
Does this help????
Susan
Hi Karen and Susan
Thank you for your messages.
Susan, do you know the very interesting book on the trip made by Morris Selevan, his mother Yenta Selevan born Nochimowski and his aunt Nechamka Hymowitz born Nochimowski ? They traveled in 1933 to visit in Poland their parents and grandparents, Zvi Hirsch Nochimowski and Liebe-Rochel. This book includes many information on the trip and a number of photos of your grand-mother and her parents. I don't know the date of Nechamka's death but I would be interested in having any information on it.
Karen, I have no information on Beyla. I think that Andrew Gilbert created this profile on Geni as Reb Moshe Niankowski's wife and Liebe Rochel's mother. Also, I have no information at all on the profile of Lea you just created as Reb Moshe's wife. Can you share with us your sources ?
Thank you very much Alain
I hope Andrew will receive this conversation. If not, I have his email address and will send it to him directly.
Corrections I too would recommend the Selevan book.of the visit of Hymowitz and Selevan family to Paris and Nowogrodek. I believe Zvi Hirsch Nochimowski who was already very old and not well at the time of the book in the mid 1930s and also Liebe Rochel would have passed before the invasion of the Nazis.
Talking with descendants of family who survived the Nazis and went to New York, it seems there was great distant after the war sadly.
happy to talk and zoom together on this.

I found the source for Lea as the wife of Reb Moshe Niankowski on Myheritage.com. Of course, now I can't locate it. I'll keep searching. Karen
I found it on David Haber's MyHeritage web site but I now realize Lea was the wife of Moshe Niankowski born 1892. Thanks for keeping me honest. I just deleted Lea as the mother of Liebe Rochel Nochimowski (Niankowski).
The source I found for the death of Anna Nechamka Hymowitz is located at

I would imagine it is another Anna Nechamka Hymowitz. Is it a mistake or were the two people with the same name?
