YDNA with Haplog R-BY56690 is the main branch for every Gresham male descendant of Edward Gresham Immigrant to Virginia in 1650. This haplog came into being about 1650 with a range before and after.
To be a biological US Gresham male (regardless of your current surname) you must have a YDNA haplog that matches to the other Gresham men in the FTDNA Block Tree. All Men who have tested and are in the Big Y 700 Gresham Surname Project all descend from the main branch of R-BY56690.
