Although this remains to be confirmed by further data, the current distribution of R-FGC17460 subclades, the origins put forward by the testers and the ancient DNA found in Belgium, suggest that the MRCA of all mens belonging to R-FGC17460 and downstream subclades was living during Roman Republic Period, around 2nd Century BC, and most likely belonged to a Germanic people living on the continental coasts of the North Sea, in Denmark, northwest Germany or even Netherlands.
