Rybnik is a city in Silesia, Poland. Related to Rabbis from Gleiwitz, Loslau, Sohrau, Langendorf, Nicolai.

The synagogue in Rybnik was constructed between 1842-1848 on the site of the previous wooden synagogue. It was located at the crossroads of the former Zamkowa and Gimnazjalna Streets (present Zamkowa and Chrobrego Streets). During the Second World War, in winter 1939-1940 Germans put fire to the synagogue and they pulled down the ruins.

After the area was leveled, a municipal square with a fountain was built on the spot.

The masonry building was rectangular on plan, in a classical style. On the top of the front wall a large Star of David was placed. The interior was semicircular with tall semicircular windows. Source
