This project is for those buried in Slifer Cemetery, Farmersville, Jackson Township, Montgomery County, Ohio.
Slifer's is a very old cemetery that dates to the beginning of the church and probably one of the oldest in Montgomery County. The oldest
marked grave is Elisabeth Seiler who died at the age of 28 on May 24,1810. She was the wife of U. Seiler. The grave is in row 7.
Many of the stones are beginning to deteriorate but considering the age, most are still readable. A small percentage of the stones were unreadable with
out the aid of some chalk, flour or a good brushing. Stones have been moved over the years from damage due to vandals or mowing. Some stones are placed on the next row of graves to ease mowing of the grass. The bases are still there and with a little effort, the exact location of the grave can be found by comparing the stone with a base.
