  • Cecilia Sofos-Hopkins (1922 - 2011)
I remember Cecilia as being a 'mentor' to me of sorts. She introduced me to my love of antiques, took me to antique shows, pointed out things that were dear and special - (translation - very valuable!)...
  • William Peter Sofos (1898 - 1958)
My Father was born in Divri, Greece. It has since changed it's name and has been incorporated into the larger town of Lampia. This is what I found out about Divri on the internet: Lampeia (Greek: Λαμπε...
  • Andrew P Sofos (1888 - 1962)
I had two favorite uncles. Thio Andrew was one of them. He was larger than life for me. He loved his ranch in Alma, CA, loved his wife Olymbia and, I think, loved Elaine and me. I remember being grosse...
  • Olymbia Sofos Tryfon (1900 - 1989)

From Divri, Greece my Father and his brothers emigrated to the USA. Andrew, Kosta, Alex, William and Philip all settled in SF with Kosta moving eventually to San Mateo, CA and Philip moving to New Iberia, Louisiana. I have little information about the Sofos family that stayed in Greece other than I had four first cousins who lived in Greece - Vassili, a lawyer in Athens who died childless, He was my first cousin but I don't know his last name or the connection to my Father. Then there were Christos, Maria and Despo. I am not sure if Christos, Despo and Maria's maiden name was Zepher. There seems to be another brother or sister that I am not aware of. There was a priest who had children as well. Hopeless!
