Penhallegon is a place-name originating in Cornwall from "Pen," meaning "head" or "end" and "helygen" meaning "willow tree." Those with that spelling made their way to Mineral Point Wisconsin in the 19th century and spread out from there. So far I've been focusing on my spelling of my surname, Penhallegon, but I plan on branching out to others in an effort to connect more completely. Here's an incomplete list:
Penhallegon Penhallagon Penhaligon Penhelegon Penhalegen Penalagen Pennaliggan Pennyliggon Penyligon Pennylegion
One goal of mine is to find my connection to the founder of Penhaligon's Perfume House, William Henry Penhallegon. Any help with that would be greatly appreciated.
