There are a number of variations of the surname Dyment. These include Diment, Dayment and, perhaps, the root, Diamond.
This project is an attempt to track down these variations and their geographical origins. At the very least this project will inform us of the variations which are often barriers to searches in Census and Parish records because the recorder spelt the name phonetically and often the individual couldn't read well enough to correct the misspell.
