This is a project about the Yankov Family stemming on the male side from Kuklen (Plovdiv region) and ultimately from Momchilovtsi (Bulgaria). Male ancestors of this family carried the name "Yanev" in the late 19th century, "Todorov" before that, and "Baklarev" back in the late1600s, when the earliest known male ancestor by the name of Nicola Baklarev established a large animal farm in the Rhodope Mountains, effectively founding the village of Momchilovtsi. Nicola Baklarev was one of three brothers who moved together to the Rhodopes from the sea-side village of Baetli (or Bayatla), modern-day Pagouria in the Komotini province in Northern Greece.
