This project is to research and find out more about the Macherla family that originated in the city of Moosarambagh/Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. I started this project to see if we can find out more about our Macherla ancestors. We all know that most of our parents were born either in Moosarambagh or Hyderabad but where did our ancestors originate from. Sometimes it is annoying when I hear all the Americans talk about their genealogy projects and how they are proud to know so much about their family's history. I hope that this project can help us find out more about Andhra Pradesh's rich and vivid history and how our family lived in the olden times. Throughout the years, I have enjoyed listening to stories about how mom and her siblings grew up in Moosarambagh and went to school. My personal favorite story happens to be about how mom and dad got married. Dad’s eldest sister’s husband and mom’s elder sister’s husband worked at the same office. One day they got to talking about their families and then the uncle from dad’s side said hey my brother-in-law is ready for marriage. He said that dad had graduated with a degree in Engineering and was going to America to go to graduate school at Auburn University. The uncle from mom’s side said that’s cool and said that his sister-in-law was 18. They met each other’s families and then got engaged. They were engaged for three months and then got married April 13th, 1969.
