Union Chapel Cemetery, a non-denominational cemetery with nearly 11,000 gravesites, is located at 8306 Union Chapel Road in Northern Indianapolis.
The Cemetery has served the Central Indiana community since 1822.
Located on the high bluffs on the banks of scenic White River and, while located within the City, it is recognized as an island of quiet and peaceful tranquility that befits such an historic cemetery. In addition to the riverbank setting, it is blessed with many beautiful large and small trees and it is a home to many wild birds. Deer with their young can be seen frequently in the Cemetery environs.
Burials in the Cemetery include nearly 400 veterans gravesites, including a number of Civil War and Spanish-American War veterans. Flags are placed on the graves of these veterans each Memorial Day.
