Welcome!

You have reached the family tree collaboration page for the extended Chapkovsky family.
The surname is spelled in numerous different ways, including but not limited to Weinzimer, Weinzimmer, וויינצימער, Wajncymer, Wymor, Weinsummere, and numerous other variants. Family members appear to descend from a single family living in the Lomza Gubernya (Province) of northeast Poland. Some branches emigrated to the Ireland, the UK, the United States and Israel at various times during the 20th Century.
It is our hope to to build a collaborative tree on Geni tying together all genealogically-minded members of the family, wherever on the globe they may be found.
How can you participate?
=
(1) Add your branches to the tree, or any other branches that you may have researched. This is a 100% shared collaboration and the tree belongs to all of us. But please do not duplicate existing entries. If you need any help, please do not hesitate to contact Geni curator Adam Brown.
(2) Upload photographs and documents to the tree. Primary materials are the lifeblood of any historical endeavor and yours are valuable!
(3) Invite family members to tree. The more the merrier and maybe you will uncover someone with a latent talent for historical research; and
(4) If you have the last name of Weinzimmer or one of its variations, please participate in our new Y Chromosome DNA study of the family as a means of sorting out the branches of the tree. We actively encourage family members to participate by contacting Adam. Our first test results indicate that the Weinzimmer males carry the "G2c Y chromosome" well-documented in the literature as being one of the primary Y chromosomes of the Ashkenazi genetic heritage.
