Welsh Coal Miners in the US

I discovered that my 2x great grandfather was probably one of two people who died trying to rescue 108 coal miners in Avondale PA in 1869. At the time, this was the largest coal mine disaster in the history of the United States.

I cannot find much to connect these coal miners back to their Welsh origins. Anyone with interest or information is welcome to join. The people I have added include Thomas D or A Williams who died in the 1869 Avondale Mine Disaster, probably as an unfortunate rescuer who entered the mine too early, his wife, Rachel, who (most likely) remarried to unknown Davis (there is a small chance that unknown Davis is her father and even smaller chance unknown Davis is her mother). I also included Thomas & Rachel's son William Henry Williams, who may have been a coal miner in the 1880s before he moved to Virginia, where he worked for N&W railway. I do not know whether others in the Thomas/Rachel or Rachel/unknown households were miners.

While interested in others who were coal miners or their descendants, I am looking for information that identifies their Welsh ancestors.
