My family started in Kahnawake Que when my 5th grt grandfather Silas Rice was captured by the mohawk Indians 1704 and brought to Caugnawga Que now known as Kahnawake Que he was adopted into the native community and he married Marie Tsiakohawi Silas was given a native name Jacques Tannahorens he was allowed to keep the Rice name for his children and desendents My 4th grt grandfather was Thomas Aronhiowanen b1737,my 3rd grt grandfather was Pierre Taiohenser Deer Rice b1737 in Caugnawage he maried Silas grandaughter,my 2nd grt grandfather was Ignace Awennaietha b 1784, My grt grandfather was Pierre Atawenrate Rice b1814 he was also one of the chiefs in Kahnawake Que.My grandfather was Israel Tekarihoken Rice B1870 inKahnawake Que My dad is Arthur Rice b 1910 in Caughnawga Que now known as Kahnawake Que Judy Rice
